Throughout the year, we carry out a range of meaningful campaigns focused on supporting those in need, enriching education, and inspiring a love for reading across Malaysia. Together with our customers, we strive to create a better and brighter future for all.

Ramadan @ POPULAR

Kempen Ramadan @ POPULAR merupakan inisiatif tahunan yang diperkenalkan sejak tahun 2010 hasil perbincangan bersama wakil penerbit berhubung hasrat POPULAR untuk menyumbang kepada masyarakat. Kempen ini bertujuan menggalakkan budaya membaca dan amalan beramal sepanjang bulan Ramadan, serta mengajak pelanggan melakukan kebaikan melalui pembelian yang menyumbang kepada badan kebajikan terpilih di seluruh Malaysia. Sehingga kini, kempen ini telah berjaya menyalurkan sumbangan kepada 327 buah rumah kebajikan di seluruh negara.

Fiction Carnival @ POPULAR

Launched in 2022, Fiction Carnival @ POPULAR has reached its 5th edition this year. This initiative is dedicated to nurturing a love for reading while building a brighter future for Malaysia’s younger generation. Through this campaign, POPULAR continues to support school communities nationwide by improving access to quality reading materials.

To date, more than 400 school libraries have benefited from this initiative, with each selected school receiving books worth RM3,000. This ongoing effort reflects POPULAR’s commitment to enriching educational resources and encouraging reading habits among students across the country.

Comic Carnival @ POPULAR

Since its inception in 2020, Comic Carnival @ POPULAR has reached its 5th year and has benefited more than 15,000 students nationwide. It has been committed to supporting underprivileged students by providing essential stationery to support their educational journey. The initiative reaches students in Malaysia who face barriers such as limited access to basic learning resources and educational support.

Through this campaign, POPULAR strives to build a more inclusive and empowering learning environment where every student is equipped with the essential tools to learn, grow, and achieve success. This initiative reinforces POPULAR’s strong commitment to education and youth empowerment.

Children’s Carnival @ POPULAR

Held annually at the end of the year, Children’s Carnival @ POPULAR is in its 4th consecutive year. The campaign is dedicated to empowering children and fostering a lifelong love for reading. The campaign supports underprivileged children in Malaysia who face challenges such as limited access to food, healthcare, education, and reading materials, and has contributed to 12 NGOs nationwide.

Through this initiative, POPULAR aims to create a more supportive and inclusive environment where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. Beyond providing assistance, the campaign also plays a role in cultivating positive reading habits and encouraging early learning among young children.

HOPE for Reading

Launched in 2012 by Sin Chew Daily with the support of POPULAR, the HOPE for Reading project is now in its 14th year. This charitable initiative aims to provide quality reading materials to children in rural areas while nurturing a lifelong love for reading. Each year, both parties collaborate to develop charity items for sale at BookFest @ Malaysia and selected outlets. All proceeds are fully channelled towards purchasing books for underprivileged children, as well as enriching school and community libraries with diverse and meaningful reading resources.
