Prince Series Royal Memoir Compilation #01: A Royal Return to the Beginning

Every great friendship begins somewhere. Before royal duties, adventures and unforgettable lessons, five young boys would meet and have their lives changed forever. Prince Series Royal Memoir Compilation #01 collects the first three volumes of the series and includes an exclusive eight-page comic, taking readers back to where Alexis and the four princes first crossed paths.

More than fairy tales

Across the first three volumes, Alexis joins Princes Junta, Vladimir, Jaynyn and Uthman as they navigate life at Momosi Academy. Along the way, they learn lessons about punctuality, etiquette and understanding cultures beyond their own. Rather than focusing solely on grand adventures, the stories explore the small moments that help shape thoughtful, responsible and compassionate young people.

As series creator Kaoru explained, the intention was never simply to teach young readers a list of rules. Instead, each story gently encourages them to understand why kindness, respect, responsibility and consideration matter.

Returning to the beginning

For Kaoru, Royal Memoir Compilation #01 is much more than a simple reprint. After years of expanding the Prince Series with new characters and storylines, she felt it was the right moment to return to where it all began. For longtime readers who grew up alongside Alexis and the four princes, the collection offers a nostalgic journey back to the stories that first captured their hearts.

While the Prince Series has continued to evolve, introducing new faces and adventures, the four princes–Junta, Vladimir, Jaynyn and Uthman–have remained fan favourites. As the story progressed, each prince eventually returned to his own kingdom, making fewer appearances in later volumes. That inspired Kaoru to revisit the beginning of their journey together, exploring how they first met through the prequel comic.

"In many ways, this prequel is also a small thank-you to the readers who have continued to love these four princes over the years. I hope it allows both longtime fans and new readers to see them from a fresh perspective and appreciate how far they've come,” she told POPClub.

Growing alongside its readers

Looking back at the earliest volumes, Kaoru sees not only the growth of the characters, but also how the creative team has evolved alongside them.

The original illustrations captured the charm of the young princes, but over time the artwork became increasingly expressive and refined. Each prince gradually developed a stronger visual identity through distinct facial expressions, body language and costume designs, allowing their personalities to shine even more clearly on every page.

Behind the scenes, however, the series has always been a collaborative effort. While Kaoru leads the storytelling and illustrations, colourists, editors and the wider Candy Factory and Dreamerz production team each play an essential role in bringing every volume to life. Together, their efforts ensure that each story reaches readers in its best possible form.

A keepsake for young readers

More than a collection of the first three adventures in a single volume, Prince Series Royal Memoir Compilation #01 has been designed as a book children can return to again and again.

Its durable hardback format makes it suitable for home libraries, schools and classrooms, while exclusive bonus features–including the brand-new prequel comic and three limited-edition Prince Poca cards–offer added delights for collectors.

Ultimately, however, the greatest treasure inside its pages is not the bonus content but the reminder that true leadership begins with kindness, respect and friendship. Whether readers are meeting Alexis and the princes for the first time or rediscovering familiar faces, this royal adventure proves that some stories continue to grow more meaningful with every generation.
